ITS OK TO NOT LIKE YOUR CHILD

Tricia Flanagan

Tricia Flanagan's Transcendence Parenting is a behavioural modification programme, which does not require a specific parenting style/model and will enable others to benefit from her experience and insight. The parents and carers still have the freedom to choose a parenting style that works best for them......after all, those that are the closest are the expert of their child!!! The journey through the book is enlightening as you learn who a child really is, what they need from you and how to understand their and your own complex behaviours. Complete with anecdotes, suggestions and advice, the reader can study each human need, take reflection exercises/activities and complete tasks that help them know what their children need and what we can do to support those needs. Ideal for parents, carers, foster parents, teachers and anyone in a responsible position when it comes to giving children the best start in life.

Happy Being Me: The Adventures of Kit and Fearne

Alison Blaney-Wombwell

Fearne and Kit are sisters, they have a condition which means they see the world in a different way; they have Autism. Fearne and Kit's Mum also has Autism. She always tells them that it is okay to be themselves and if that they need to flap, spin, cry, shout or ask for help then that is always okay. A beautiful social story that supports the understanding, acceptance and tolerance of neurodiversity in young children. This is an ideal conversation starter for educators and parents of children aged between 5 and 8 and is a powerful tool for supporting children on their own journeys by providing relatable characters and situations.
